How to build a 4 seater Folding Picnic Table that folds back to a 2 seater bench seat.

This is a new design and it has a wider tabletop that all the previous versions.

A perfect size, when the table is not in use – fold it back into a bench seat and put it against a wall.

The tabletop is 23-3/4″ (605mm) wide and 51-1/2″ (1310) long.
The height is 31-1/2″ (800mm) and overall width is 52″ (1320mm) in picnic table mode

There is a choice of two lumber sizes to build it.
For the frame: 1-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ (32 x 89mm).
For the seat & tabletop boards: 1-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ (32 x 140mm).

For the frame: 1-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ (38 x 89mm).
For the seat & tabletop boards: 1-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ (38 x 140mm).

These plans are written to allow for both thicknesses.

In all you will need:

For the frame – 30ft (9 metres) in total.
For the seat and tabletop boards – 36ft (11 metres) in total.

You will also need:
4 of 3/8″ (10mm) carriage/coach bolts 3″ (75mm) long with washers and self locking nuts.
80 of 3″ (75mm) exterior type wood screws.
Exterior wood glue.
